I started my coaching method with one goal in mind: to help provide guidance and remove anxiety from the audition preparation process.
With our specially curated exercises and exclusive library of recordings to help you practice, you will feel focused and empowered through every step of your preparation!
Welcome to Audition Buddy, where we take the philosophy of the Suzuki method "Every Child Can" and apply it to all the audition preparation in front of our students. Our courses are designed to provide young violinists and violists with the tools and support they need to excel in their auditions for Youth Orchestras, All-Region, All-State and beyond.
At the heart of our approach is the belief that breaking down complex musical challenges into manageable, bite-sized pieces fosters confidence and mastery. Following the Suzuki method's ethos, we strive to build comfort with these challenging audition excerpts by starting with exercises isolating ‘trouble spots’ and incorporating that work into the pieces assigned.
Through guided practice sessions, students will develop the skills necessary to tackle a variety of technical demands with ease and proficiency. Whether it's navigating intricate scales, refining bowing techniques, or perfecting intonation, our courses provide visual and audio aid.
Central to our methodology is the notion that music is not just a skill to be mastered, but a source of joy and self-expression. By infusing each lesson with the spirit of fun and creativity, we empower students to showcase their musicality and personality during their auditions, turning the experience into a rewarding and fulfilling journey.

Our curriculum can be enough on its own to prepare students for an audition, but works best in combination with private lessons! Please feel free to work through this course to strengthen the work with your private lesson teacher, or to schedule a 1-on-1 virtual lesson with the Audition Buddy creator, Rachel, for help working through your unique challenges and for more tailored guidance in perfecting your preparation.
